What is the VARTA API and what can I build with it?

The VARTA API lets your own application load a conversational agent, exchange turns with it, place and monitor telephone calls, and read an itemised record of what each turn decided and what it cost. You author the agent once in the studio; your code loads it and talks.

Everything here runs against your own VARTA instance. Set VARTA_BASE_URL to your host — every example on this site reads it.
