What does the VARTA error `telephony_not_configured` mean?

What it means

This deployment has no telephony provider wired up.

What causes it

Raised when no provider is configured: the default no-op provider (backend/app/services/telephony.py), or the LiveKit provider missing LIVEKIT_URL/LIVEKIT_API_KEY/LIVEKIT_API_SECRET or the livekit-api package — reached from POST /v1/calls with dial: true (backend/app/api/v1/calls.py).

What to do

Omit dial to prepare the session and place the call with your own dialer, or configure LiveKit credentials and register a trunk.
